Battleship Potemkin - Film Review

OUTSTANDING FILM
★★★★★- 5 Stars
This movie made me think about people in general. The people always have something to say and nothing will ever be perfect in the world. The movie has no specific story line, just a time period in which events are occurring around it. The event is the Russian Revolution. There will always be people on one side of a problem and people on the other side. The first few minutes of the film are nothing but introduction, but necessary introduction. Not introduction to characters, or plot, but an introduction to tone of the film. We see riots and attacks on innocent people (and babies; yes babies) that lead to no change but just to realize that all people are the same.
I have to mention the movie's ending. Another Russian battleship passes by the Battleship Potemkin. One man stands above the rest just as they are about to open fire. He screams, "We are brothers!". He realizes that they should not fight because they will never reach a goal worth reaching. The soldiers put their weapons down and cheer in joy as they realize that their fighting brought no change. The film is an anti-war film. The film is also an anti-violence film. It will make you change your feelings about people in general and not just violence. It will show you both sides of a conflict and tries to settle that change will happen but not everyone will be appeased.
