The classic tale of Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather" has an eternal flame. The movie is perfectly acted and executed in ways that can not be seen in other films. Every actor from Marlon Brando to Talia Shire fit the story very well and makes the film shine. Brando received the Academy Award for his role as Vito Corleone which was very well deserved (he declined it, though, due to the Academy's presentations of Native Americans). The film tells the story of a Mafia family, the Corleone family, and its aging monarch, Don Vito Corleone. Vito has three sons, Sonny, Fredo, and Michael, and a daughter, Connie. In the start of the film, Michael wants no part of the "family business" and plans to marry his love, Kay Adams (Diane Keaton). We see the Corleones at a wedding and this wedding is for the marriage of Vito's daughter Connie. During the festivities, Vito is working as usual. He gets a visit from Johnny Fontane (Al Martino) who is upset because he was not cast in a picture he wanted to be in. It is at this part Vito utters the iconic words, "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."
The scale of "The Godfather" on many Greatest Movie list is very high and will continue to remain there. This is definitely a must see movie for anybody. There is an equal amount of power and dignity, of drama and action. The ending is something else as well and I recommend that you see that.
